SME Credit Manager

About the role

The SME Credit Manager is responsible for analysing and structuring credit risk for small‑and‑medium enterprise customers. The role supports the Business Banking SME Credit Team in delivering world‑class credit services while meeting risk and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, sanction, monitor and control credit applications across multiple industry sectors.
• Exercise sole lending discretion up to US$1.2 million, including higher‑risk classifications.
• Provide input to business and credit policy development and ensure implementation of approved policies.
• Maintain compliance with governance, lending portfolio controls and data‑integrity standards.
• Collaborate with risk functions and the Conformance Team to manage risk‑reward and pricing decisions.
• Partner with country colleagues to deliver tailored risk solutions and post‑application coaching.
• Contribute to change‑management initiatives aimed at process improvement and cost reduction.

Required profile

• Credit professional with experience in credit risk structuring and sanctioning for SME customers.
• Proven ability to assess and approve or decline credit proposals using sound judgement.
• Strong understanding of credit policies, governance and compliance requirements.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with risk functions and business partners.
