Software Support Engineer

About the role

You will act as the critical link between Boost Technology’s engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. By triaging technical issues and delivering production code fixes in Python and SQL, you will ensure a seamless experience for thousands of informal retailers. This hands‑on role blends technical troubleshooting with cross‑cultural collaboration to drive digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues, uncovering root causes in the codebase.
• Ship production‑ready code fixes, tests, and platform improvements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline by building automated test suites that prevent regressions and guarantee reliability across the global platform.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical‑support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL) with a strong desire to dive deep into code and AWS infrastructure.
• Excellent communicator able to bridge technical requirements and non‑technical customer needs across diverse cultures and time zones.
