Software Support Engineer

About the role

Boost Technology is looking for a Software Support Engineer to act as the bridge between its engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. You will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production code fixes, and ensure a reliable experience for thousands of informal retailers using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems by investigating root causes in the codebase.
• Develop and deploy production‑ready fixes, tests, and platform enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline, building automated test suites to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural teams, translating technical requirements into actionable solutions for non‑technical users.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical‑support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL) with a strong desire to work on AWS‑based infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders across different time zones.
