Software Support Engineer – Remote

About the role

As a Software Support Engineer you will act as the bridge between Boost Technology’s engineering team and its on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. Working remotely, you will troubleshoot technical issues, ship production code fixes, and ensure a smooth experience for thousands of informal retailers using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Tri­age, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems in the codebase.
• Develop and deploy production‑ready fixes and enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline by building automated test suites to prevent regressions.
• Document root‑cause analyses and share best practices with distributed teams.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical‑support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders across different cultures and time zones.
• Passion for digging into code and infrastructure on AWS.

Required skills

• Python (intermediate proficiency, preferably with Flask).
• SQL with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Automated testing and QA pipeline development.
