Staff Protocol Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Protocol Engineer to lead the design and implementation of next‑generation blockchain protocol improvements. This high‑impact role focuses on building scalable, payment‑focused distributed systems that serve millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalability solutions, including throughput optimization and high‑performance execution architectures.
• Lead protocol initiatives such as proposer‑builder separation, MEV mitigation, and transaction ordering systems.
• Develop parallelized transaction execution models for EVM‑based environments.
• Drive low‑latency transaction experiences through pre‑confirmation mechanisms and near‑instant finality.
• Build and optimize core blockchain infrastructure components, contributing to Ethereum‑compatible clients and tooling.
• Collaborate with research, security, and infrastructure teams to safely deploy protocol upgrades.
• Apply AI‑assisted development tools for rapid prototyping, testing, and performance analysis.
• Mentor engineers and uphold high standards for system design and code quality.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in backend, distributed systems, or protocol engineering.
• Strong leadership and hands‑on engineering capabilities.
• Passion for decentralized systems, performance optimization, and large‑scale infrastructure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Golang.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and blockchain infrastructure.
• Experience with EVM and Ethereum‑compatible clients.
• Familiarity with AI/ML techniques for observability and optimization.
