About the role
The Strategic Communication Management Trainee program is a twelve‑month, fast‑track rotation designed to develop future leaders in storytelling and content creation for Aga Khan University Hospital. Participants will work across the Strategic Communication Office, gaining hands‑on experience in written and visual storytelling while receiving mentorship and leadership networking opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Research, interview, and draft articles for newsletters and social media platforms.
- Design graphics, social media tiles, infographics, and short‑form videos using Canva and adhere to brand guidelines.
- Adapt stories for web, email, print and social channels, applying basic SEO and accessibility practices.
- Contribute ideas to the editorial calendar and support storytelling campaign execution.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to identify authentic stories, conduct interviews, and secure necessary consents.
- Take ownership of at least one end‑to‑end storytelling project and present learnings.
- Provide administrative support for procurement of outsourced services when required.
Required profile
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Marketing, English, Graphic Design, Digital Media or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and respect privacy sensitivities.
- Motivation to develop strategic storytelling capabilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Canva for graphic creation.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles.
