Systems Accountant

About the role

Trocaire is seeking a Systems Accountant to join its finance team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role focuses on linking finance processes with technology, ensuring accurate reporting and robust financial controls across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance ERP/accounting systems, preferably Unit4, to support finance operations.
• Collaborate with finance users to gather requirements and translate them into practical system or reporting solutions.
• Support finance transformation projects, system implementations, and upgrades.
• Produce and validate financial reports, ensuring compliance with reporting cycles and controls.
• Analyse data using Excel and other tools to provide insights and improve processes.
• Coordinate stakeholders across teams, countries, and cultures during change initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant, or equivalent experience in finance systems, reporting, or finance operations.
• Strong practical understanding of accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting cycles.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to communicate clearly with both finance and technical colleagues.
