Associate – Research & Market Intelligence

About the role

0to1 Advisory is seeking an Associate to support research and market intelligence across Africa. This apprenticeship offers direct exposure to senior advisors and real‑world transaction work, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of markets, companies, and capital flows.

Key responsibilities

• Map companies, sectors and investment landscapes across Africa.
• Build and maintain acquisition and investment target lists.
• Screen companies against client mandates and analyze ownership structures.
• Research investors, private equity funds, family offices, DFIs and strategic buyers.
• Track capital raises, acquisitions, exits, IPOs, management changes and ownership transitions.
• Conduct competitor and market‑structure analysis.
• Analyse market entry opportunities and strategic fit for clients.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize complex, incomplete information.
• Interest in African markets, finance and investment dynamics.
• Willingness to work closely with senior team members and senior advisors.
• Excellent written communication to produce research that can be challenged by industry leaders.
