About the role

Flying Kites Academy is seeking a dedicated Teacher to create a safe, inclusive and gender‑transformative learning environment for children in Westlands, Kenya. The role focuses on delivering competency‑based education, fostering whole‑child development and acting as a trusted adult for students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑impact lessons aligned with the Competency‑Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
• Integrate Gender‑Transformative Education (GTE) principles into daily classroom activities.
• Promote physical, social and emotional well‑being through a whole‑child approach and safeguarding practices.
• Design engaging projects, teaching aids and learning materials that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, performance and any critical incidents.
• Guide students in exploring career pathways and nurturing their talents.

Required profile

• Mid‑level teaching qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Commitment to inclusive, gender‑sensitive education and child protection.
• Strong communication and mentorship abilities.

Required skills

• Curriculum planning and delivery.
• Classroom management using positive discipline.
• Development of instructional materials.
• Student assessment and data‑driven feedback.
