Technical Resource Planner

About the role

The Technical Resource Planner will ensure optimal staff utilisation across Kenya Airways' maintenance and operational functions. Working closely with Technical and Sectional Managers, you will design and maintain staffing plans that meet both short‑term and long‑term operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan medium‑ and long‑term availability of production staff in collaboration with Technical Managers.
• Coordinate leave plans with Sectional Managers to align with corporate policies.
• Organise training programmes and verify compliance with mandatory qualifications.
• Publish 28‑day rosters a week before each cycle starts.
• Identify resourcing gaps and propose mitigation actions.
• Prepare and analyse performance reports (training, leave, productivity) for management.
• Develop and implement resource deployment rules and model them in the resource management system.
• Apply mathematical modelling, statistical analysis and what‑if scenarios to optimise resource plans.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in a relevant field.
• At least five years of experience in airline operational areas.
• Experience in resource management or scheduling is an advantage.
• Familiarity with KCAA/EASA regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with general IT systems and specific MRO application systems.
• Knowledge of resource management systems.
• Mathematical modelling and statistical analysis capabilities.
