Supply Chain Officer – Procurement & Inventory Management

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Supply Chain Officer to join our team at Emining Technical Training Institute. The successful candidate will manage procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory control of goods and services, ensuring a smooth supply chain that meets institutional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient supply chain management strategies aligned with institutional objectives.
• Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating terms.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure timely restocking of essential supplies and materials.
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and services within the institution.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional policies related to procurement and supply chain activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure reliable and cost‑effective services.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular audits for optimal operations.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to procurement and inventory management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in supply chain management or procurement, preferably within an educational or public institution.
• Professional certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, KISM) are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices in Kenya.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power management software).
