Tennis Instructor – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Tennis Instructor to deliver professional tennis instruction for a US Navy recreation program located on Diego Garcia. The role involves teaching individuals and groups of varying skill levels while fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide up to 20 hours per week of tennis lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans covering fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and match play.
• Organize practice drills, conditioning exercises, and friendly matches to enhance performance.
• Maintain tennis courts, nets, racquets, balls, and other equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Prepare the facility for each session and manage scheduling of lessons and events.
• Interact professionally with participants, offering feedback, answering questions, and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Certification or documented experience as a Tennis Instructor through USPTA, PTR, or an equivalent recognized body.
• Proven ability to teach tennis to a diverse age and skill range.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities for lesson planning and equipment management.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
