Tier 3 NOC Engineer – MSP & Network Operations

About the role

The Tier 3 NOC Engineer provides the highest level of technical escalation within client environments, ensuring system stability, performance, and reliability. This role combines deep network expertise with proactive operational responsibilities, covering monitoring, incident response, and infrastructure improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure using SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix and proprietary tools, maintaining thresholds and SLA metrics.
• Respond to alerts and outages, perform triage, manage incident lifecycles and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Serve as primary escalation point for Tier 1/2 teams and coordinate vendor support during major incidents.
• Execute firmware updates, patches, and configuration changes on routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless controllers.
• Implement VLANs, ACLs, VPNs and manage change‑management activities.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD‑WAN, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP) and analyze traffic with Wireshark or tcpdump.
• Resolve Windows/macOS issues, manage Hybrid AD, Azure/Entra ID and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and RMM workflows to automate tasks and monitoring.
• Monitor security events, manage EDR deployments, perform vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with security policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Tier 3 IT support or NOC environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to lead incident response, coordinate cross‑functional teams and communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience managing complex network infrastructures and security operations.
