Truck Driver – Event Equipment Transport

About the role

The client, an events company operating in Kenya, is looking for a dependable and safety‑mindful Truck Driver. The role involves transporting event equipment and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, proper handling of goods, and occasional staff transport.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver event equipment and materials to designated sites safely and on schedule.
• Verify items before dispatch and upon delivery.
• Handle unexpected challenges such as traffic delays or vehicle breakdowns.
• Provide transport support for staff when required.
• Comply with all traffic rules and safety standards.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
• Collaborate with the logistics/events team to plan routes and schedules.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and vehicle usage logs.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment at various locations.

Required profile

• KCSE Certificate; additional logistics or related education preferred.
• Valid commercial driver’s licence (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 5 years of experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably in logistics.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices.
• NYSC training and basic mechanical knowledge are advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with navigation tools such as Google Maps.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle upkeep.
