Video Editor

About the role

Sun King is looking for a creative Video Editor to produce high‑quality video content that supports its solar energy mission across Africa. You will transform raw footage into engaging videos for marketing campaigns, internal communications and digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into polished final videos, ensuring proper pacing, transitions and storytelling flow.
• Create basic motion graphics, titles, lower thirds and simple visual effects.
• Apply color correction and grading to maintain visual consistency across all outputs.
• Mix and edit audio tracks, including dialogue, music and sound effects, to achieve broadcast‑ready sound quality.
• Adapt and optimise videos for multiple platforms (social media, web, TV, internal presentations) and deliver various versions such as cut‑downs and teasers.
• Collaborate with designers, copywriters and marketing teams, incorporate feedback and align videos with campaign goals.
• Manage project files, maintain version control and meet tight deadlines while handling several projects simultaneously.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years of professional video‑editing experience in a corporate, agency or media environment.
• Strong attention to detail, creative problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
• Awareness of current video trends, social‑media formats and branding concepts.
• Willingness to work extended hours when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Proficiency with Final Cut Pro.
• Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics.
• Understanding of video formats, codecs and export settings.
• Basic color‑grading and audio‑mixing techniques.
