Youth Mental Health Storytelling Consultant (Remote, 5 months)

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Global Mental Health Lead, this consultancy will design, coordinate and implement a multi‑country youth storytelling, engagement and learning plan. The work supports UNICEF’s partnership with Spotify and a research project with Pinterest, aiming to improve mental health outcomes for young people.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a multi‑country youth storytelling and engagement strategy.
• Coordinate internal and external promotion of mental‑health content.
• Collaborate with partners (Spotify, Pinterest) on research and dissemination activities.
• Produce, edit and publish communications materials, including articles, videos and social‑media posts.
• Analyse social‑media metrics and data to refine outreach strategies.
• Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in Public Health, Mental Health, International Humanitarian Affairs, Data & Evaluation or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, writing/editing, project management or strategic outreach, preferably in global mental‑health contexts.
• Experience interviewing young people on sensitive topics and supporting youth storytelling initiatives.

Required skills

• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Analytical capability to interpret data and social‑media metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, WordPress (or similar CMS), Adobe InDesign and Canva.
