Accountant – Financial Recordkeeping & Reporting

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Nairobi team at CloudFactory. The role involves handling day‑to‑day financial recordkeeping, supporting reporting and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer invoices and vendor bills accurately and within agreed credit terms.
• Initiate and manage vendor payments following internal approval processes.
• Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements and cash‑flow statements.
• Support account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and other balance‑sheet items.
• Prepare payroll records for core team and manage cloud team payouts, coordinating with the Talent team.
• Perform general administrative duties, including filing, document organization and petty‑cash management.
• Provide audit support by supplying documentation, working papers and calculations.
• Assist with tax compliance, preparing and filing tax returns on time.
• Help maintain internal controls and ensure the reliability of financial information.
• Collaborate with other functions to build positive stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Professional accounting knowledge with a solid understanding of key concepts and best practices.
• Experience in financial recordkeeping, vendor billing and invoice processing.
• Ability to work with the company’s accounting system and analytical tools.
• Strong communication skills to convey financial information clearly.
• Problem‑solving aptitude to analyse data and resolve issues independently.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
