Accountant for Coffee Nurseries

About the role

The Accountant will manage the financial operations of Blockchain Coffee Nurseries' coffee nursery business. You will ensure accurate records, compliance with tax and statutory requirements, and provide timely financial reporting to support both operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for nursery operations, including seedling sales, production costs, expenses, and inputs.
• Perform reconciliations, monitor inventory levels, and investigate financial discrepancies.
• Prepare management accounts, cash‑flow reports, and cost analyses for budgeting and forecasting.
• Take seasonal agricultural cycles into account when preparing financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory obligations, and maintain proper documentation.
• Support internal and external audits and uphold internal controls.
• Manage supplier accounts, payments, and reconciliations.
• Provide financial and administrative support to management and handle accounting queries from staff, customers, and suppliers.

Required profile

• CPA(K) finalist or equivalent professional qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an agricultural or production environment.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Ability to perform detailed reconciliations and cost analysis.
