About the role
We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team in Nairobi. The role involves managing daily financial transactions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the preparation of financial reports.
Key responsibilities
- Post daily financial transactions, invoices, and expenses into Tally ERP.
- Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate documentation.
- Manage petty cash disbursements and uphold internal controls.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, processing vendor payments and following up on client invoices.
- Compute and prepare VAT and Withholding Tax schedules and assist with statutory filings.
- Produce basic financial summaries, expense reports, and budget trackers using Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for accounting records.
Required profile
- CPA (Part II or III) certification or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least two years of hands‑on experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Strong understanding of VAT, Withholding Tax, bank reconciliations, and core accounting principles.
