Accounting Clerk

About the role

The Accounting Clerk will support the finance team in daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of a manufacturing and warehousing business.

Key responsibilities

• Check and respond to company emails each morning, prioritising urgent financial, supplier and customer matters.
• Record and update financial transactions in Odoo ERP.
• Prepare and process quotations, sales orders, invoices, credit notes, receipts and related documents.
• Liaise with the Sales Team to ensure accurate and prompt invoicing of completed work.
• Follow up on purchase orders, supplier documentation, deliveries and procurement matters.
• Monitor customer accounts, issue statements and pursue overdue payments according to credit control procedures.
• Assist with bank, customer and supplier reconciliations and report discrepancies.
• Maintain manual filing of invoices, delivery notes, credit notes, receipts, purchase orders and payment records.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules for management and the Accountant.
• Prepare and file PAYE returns and statutory deductions on schedule, keeping proper records.
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Workshop and Management teams.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance‑related position.
• Knowledge of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) statutory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Odoo ERP for invoicing, sales, purchases and accounting functions.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
