Accounting Officer – Credit Control

About the role

The Accounting Officer – Credit Control will support the finance department by managing credit applications, processing customer receipts, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of payments. This position is key to maintaining healthy cash flow and supporting sales teams with timely debtor management.

Key responsibilities

• Process credit applications, credit enhancement forms and related documentation.
• Post customer receipts, including withholding VAT certificates, to the correct accounts.
• Reconcile receipts to invoices regularly and accurately.
• Respond to debtor queries and provide resolutions.
• Follow up on overdue debts in coordination with sales representatives.
• Review new customer accounts for data accuracy and proper classification.
• Generate and compile credit‑control reports for management.
• Periodically review unutilized credit balances in customer accounts.
• Assist in budget preparation.
• Maintain document management and archiving of both physical and electronic records.
• Perform any other finance‑team duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
• Strong reconciliation and control‑review abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA is an advantage.
