Accounts Assistant – Finance Operations

About the role

The Accounts Assistant will support daily finance operations, ensuring accurate processing of payments, reconciliations and compliance across the organisation. You will work closely with multiple departments to maintain financial integrity and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and reconcile transactions processed through the Boya petty‑cash/payment system, ensuring proper approval and documentation.
• Record Boya transactions in QuickBooks and maintain organised audit files.
• Coordinate daily finance activities, including bank, petty‑cash and mobile‑money reconciliations, and follow up on pending approvals.
• Manage eTIMS compliance, verify supplier tax invoices, and ensure VAT documentation is complete and accurate.
• Oversee procurement documentation, match supplier invoices with quotations, LPOs and delivery notes, and monitor supplier balances.
• Facilitate communication between finance, operations, procurement and project teams to ensure timely financial reporting.

Required profile

• Mid‑level finance professional with at least 36 months of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax, VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to handle payment system monitoring, reconciliations and documentation control.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
