Accounts Assistant – Finance Support

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the finance team at Homes Universal LTD in Nairobi. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with statutory and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the general ledger and accounting records.
• Prepare bank, supplier and account reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and schedules.
• Support payroll processing and statutory deductions reconciliation.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Verify invoices, payments and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Maintain organized financial filing systems.
• Assist with budget tracking, expense monitoring and strengthening internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA finalist or advanced stage.
• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Experience supporting audits and statutory processes is an advantage.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and high integrity.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
