About the role
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant for an interim engagement to support our finance team in Nairobi. The role involves handling day‑to‑day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with cash and fee reconciliations.
Key responsibilities
- Record financial transactions accurately and maintain up‑to‑date accounting records.
- Prepare, file and maintain payment vouchers, receipts, invoices and supporting documents.
- Update cashbooks and assist with bank and petty‑cash reconciliations.
- Receive, post and reconcile student fees and other income.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Assist in preparing basic financial reports, schedules, budgets and expenditure analysis.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and schedules for audit and management review.
- Undertake data entry and maintain appropriate electronic and physical finance records.
- Support established financial procedures and internal controls.
- Perform other basic finance and accounting duties assigned by the supervisor.
