Accounts Assistant

About the role

The Accounts Assistant will support the Unit Accountant in ensuring accurate financial records for the Fairmont Mara Safari Club. This role focuses on credit card reconciliation, cost control, and general accounting duties within a luxury hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile daily credit card transactions from the Property Management System with payment gateway and bank statements, and monitor outstanding receivables.
• Assist in monitoring departmental expenses, conduct periodic stock counts, and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and maintain accurate accounting documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or hotel industry.
• Knowledge of hotel cost control procedures and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) and accounting software.
• Ability to perform credit‑card reconciliation and inventory controls.
