Accounts Clerk – Kenya

About the role

The Accounts Clerk will support the finance team by ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, managing supplier payments, and maintaining proper documentation. This role is essential for the smooth operation of accounting processes and contributes to timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record supplier invoices accurately in the accounting system and allocate expenses according to the chart of accounts.
• Prepare and process payments to suppliers, maintaining supporting documentation for all transactions.
• Scan, file, and maintain invoices and related documents for audit and reference.
• Reconcile sales and cost of sales, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and follow up on unreconciled items.
• Assist with monthly stock counts, inventory reconciliations, and variance reporting.
• Raise purchase orders and issue sales invoices and delivery notes promptly.
• Support credit control activities by monitoring receivables and following up on outstanding debts.
• Help prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide general support to the finance team and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar accounting or admin & accounts clerk role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data accurately.
• Good organizational skills for document management and reconciliation tasks.
• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain compliance with financial regulations.
