Agronomy Manager – Senior Agronomy Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Agronomy Coordinator will provide strategic and operational leadership to agronomy programs within the Kenya coffee supply chain, acting as a key technical liaison between coffee estates, cooperatives and sustainability partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of sustainability projects across 60,000+ farmers, lead field planning and scheduling, and ensure operational excellence and quality.
• Coordinate and consolidate data collection from field teams and manage operational budgets for project activities.
• Lead, mentor and inspire field extension teams and agronomy technicians, set performance objectives and build technical capacity through training and on‑farm demonstrations.
• Design and implement agronomic programs (soil fertility, IPM, yield optimization) and supervise agronomic trials on demo plots.
• Drive adoption of regenerative agriculture practices and support climate adaptation initiatives, including carbon reduction.
• Support certification processes, coordinate internal and external audits, and train teams on compliance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture or Environmental Science.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the Kenyan agricultural sector; coffee experience is an advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management experience with a track record of operational excellence.
• Familiarity with digital agronomy tools, farm data collection and performance monitoring systems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to bridge commercial, sustainability and farmer realities.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
