About the role
The incumbent will support the AMCEN programme by coordinating technical activities, preparing key documents and ensuring smooth progress of environmental policy initiatives at UNEP’s Nairobi office.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the inception report and detailed work plan.
- Draft technical documents such as briefs, reports and policy notes.
- Organise meeting documentation, including agendas, summaries and outcomes.
- Compile monthly progress reports.
- Produce the final report summarising outputs and recommendations.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Economics, International Relations, Engineering or related fields; a first‑level degree plus two years relevant experience may be accepted.
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in environmental policy development, natural resource and ecosystem management.
- Fluency in oral and written English; knowledge of French is an asset.
