Analyst – SME Banking & Finance (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Analyst will support the SME Finance & Development (F&D) Group of the EBRD in Nairobi, contributing to the full project cycle from origination to monitoring. Working under the guidance of senior bankers, the role focuses on structuring and executing financing solutions for small and medium‑size enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in project structuring and execution, including research, market analysis and financial performance assessment.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence covering financial statements, market risks and compliance with EBRD policies.
• Prepare and update financial models and projections to evaluate project viability.
• Support the design of technical co‑operation assistance, drafting terms of reference and internal approval documents.
• Prepare draft correspondence, presentations and follow‑up communications with internal units, clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to post‑signing implementation and reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret financial statements.
• Interest in SME finance and development projects.
• Ability to work under supervision and meet tight deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
