Backend Engineer – Java & Go (AI‑First Company)

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join our AI‑first financial services platform. You will design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services that support millions of customers and process large transaction volumes daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and document secure RESTful and gRPC APIs using Java (Spring Boot) and Go.
• Build microservices following domain‑driven design and clean‑architecture principles.
• Implement event‑driven workflows with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Design and optimise relational database schemas (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and use Hibernate/JPA.
• Apply caching with Redis, integrate third‑party payment gateways, and handle data formats such as JSON, XML, Protobuf, and Avro.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), containerise services with Docker, and deploy to Kubernetes/EKS.
• Implement observability using ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger.
• Participate in code reviews, on‑call rotations, and security compliance (OAuth2, JWT, OWASP).

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Experience building scalable, secure services in a regulated financial environment.
• Passion for clean code and solving complex problems at scale.
