Bar Man – Full‑time position

About the role

The Bar Man will deliver prompt, courteous service to bar guests at our Nairobi hotel, ensuring every drink is prepared to standard and presented with a smile. You will work closely with the Bar Manager to maintain a clean, well‑stocked bar and create memorable moments for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Attend work on time and follow hotel hygiene standards.
• Serve beverage orders promptly, accurately record orders and ensure all KOTs are received.
• Maintain proper garnishing, stock the bar area, and keep the workstation tidy.
• Promote additional sales by up‑selling and recommending drinks from the bar menu, wine and beer list.
• Handle guest enquiries, requests or complaints with a "Yes I can!" attitude.
• Create daily cocktail specials, train staff on ingredients, and develop new cocktail ideas.
• Monitor bar inventory, manage expiring items and conduct daily stock‑take and cost control.
• Report equipment issues, conduct daily reconciliations and ensure compliance with alcohol policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Micros POS system.
• Knowledge of alcohol and liquor policies and ability to enforce them.
