Barista – Westlands, Kenya

About the role

Java House Africa Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic Barista to join its Westlands café. You will be part of a team that delivers high‑quality coffee and exceptional service to a diverse customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, artisan and specialty drinks.
• Interact with customers at various touch points, ensuring a friendly and efficient experience.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for beverage production and maintain a clean, organized counter.
• Assist the lead Barista with stock monitoring, daily stock‑take, and ordering via the Vuka system.
• Manage cash float, provide correct change, and ensure accurate cash handling at shift end.
• Maintain the pastry case, control waste, and keep all equipment in good working order.
• Collaborate with teammates to guarantee prompt service for both take‑away and dine‑in orders.

Required profile

• Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and solve problems.
• Highly responsible, reliable, and able to work well within a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent customer care.
• Willingness to undergo in‑house barista training.
• Minimum of one month relevant experience.
