Boiler Program Support Manager

About the role

The Boiler Program Support Manager will lead the Boiler & Unfired Pressure Vessel (BUPV) program within the Shore Department of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center. This position ensures effective support to NAVFAC Planning, Design and Construction and Public Works Directorates while shaping Navy‑wide policy and training.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the management plan to provide coordinated support for BUPV activities across NAVFAC and Public Works.
• Develop program goals, objectives, and uniform processes for efficient execution of requirements.
• Create and disseminate Navy‑wide policy and criteria related to boiler and pressure‑vessel programs.
• Design and deliver periodic inspector training workshops and specialized training for certifying officials.

Required profile

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑12 to GS‑14 level in the Federal service or comparable private/public sector experience.
• Proven ability to integrate BUPV functions into organizational structures and manage overlapping responsibilities with other technical authorities.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. and foreign life‑safety codes applicable to boiler and pressure‑vessel design and certification.
• Experience liaising with senior civilian and military leaders, federal enforcement agencies, industry representatives, safety code committees, and contractors.
• Capability to develop and conduct specialized training programs for engineers, project managers, and oversight personnel.
