Boiler Shift Supervisor

About the role

The Boiler Shift Supervisor leads the safe and efficient operation of boilers, turbines, generators and related auxiliary equipment during assigned shifts. This senior‑level position ensures compliance with safety standards, coordinates with engineering and maintenance teams, and drives continuous performance improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement safety standards to protect all personnel.
• Direct and supervise boiler, turbine and generator operations throughout the shift.
• Coordinate hourly loading, unit start‑ups and shutdowns with the Engineering department.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve plant operating problems that affect safety, environment, reliability or efficiency.
• Document operating issues in detail to expedite repairs.
• Work with maintenance and technical teams for both outage and non‑outage activities.
• Provide on‑shift training to ensure operator competence.
• Maintain site tidiness and enforce good housekeeping practices.
• Keep accurate operational records for historical and performance reporting.
• Prepare daily shift reports and lead morning operational meetings.
• Conduct performance reviews, set goals and hold personnel accountable.
• Assign jobs, complete shift documentation and manage emergency response.
• Oversee fuel handling, feed hopper operation and monitor delivery truck unloading.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 60 months (5 years) of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to lead shift teams in a manufacturing or power‑generation environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
