Business Application Specialist

About the role

The Business Application Specialist will support MSF’s Kenya office by improving processes through the optimal use of digital platforms. Reporting to the Head of Office, the incumbent will manage, develop, and maintain automation tools, websites, and online catalogues while ensuring data security and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain automation tools for internal workflows.
• Manage and upgrade the KO website in collaboration with the ICT HQ team, including domain hosting and security on Microsoft Azure.
• Maintain the online product catalogue, ensuring up‑to‑date codes, photos, videos, and API integration with SPINCO and UF teams.
• Enforce data security and encryption standards across all MSF digital assets, complying with the Data Protection Act and MSF policies.
• Oversee programming projects from code development through testing and deployment, providing regular updates to project teams.
• Create training manuals and presentations for KO tools, and develop system guidelines for HQ ICT.
• Perform unit testing and troubleshoot issues across the application stack to ensure efficiency, scalability, and security.
• Support the Nairobi BIOMED Hub with audio/video tutorials, AR/VR content, and 3D‑printing initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in managing web platforms and automation tools.
• Familiarity with data protection regulations and secure IT practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and provide clear technical documentation.
