Business Coach – CASHA Programme (Laikipia)

About the role

The CASHA Business Coach will support young men and women, as well as small‑and‑medium enterprises, operating along livestock and agricultural value chains in Laikipia. This full‑time position focuses on delivering business development services, mentorship and data‑driven decision making to foster growth and social inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide business development services (BDS) and coaching to SMEs and micro‑enterprises in the ASAL region.
• Guide market‑entry strategies and identify growth opportunities for agricultural and livestock businesses.
• Collect, enter, analyse and interpret data to generate actionable insights for clients.
• Utilise mobile data‑collection tools and Microsoft Office to manage project information.
• Travel across the implementation area using a motorcycle, ensuring regular field visits.
• Collaborate with local partners to promote social inclusion and sustainable business practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture or Livestock.
• 3‑5 years of experience working with youth, SMEs and markets, especially in livestock and agri‑related value chains.
• Proven track record delivering business development services and fostering growth in ASAL regions.
• Strong mentorship and coaching abilities.
• Valid motorcycle licence (A1/A2) and experience riding a motorcycle.
• Resident of the county where CASHA will be implemented.
