Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive growth for a micro‑credit institution by processing and disbursing loans, identifying new market opportunities, and creating effective marketing strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Market Logbook Loans and acquire new customers.
• Evaluate client eligibility, approve loan disbursements and ensure timely collections.
• Follow up on defaulters and manage arrears.
• Conduct market research to uncover growth opportunities.
• Maintain accurate client records and verify collateral.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with customers to ensure retention.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field (minimum KCSE C+).
• At least 3 years of experience in Logbook Loans sales or similar micro‑finance environment.
• Knowledge of sales, marketing, credit risk management and lending processes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial statements.
• Team player with a drive to improve performance.
