Business Growth and Development Manager

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for a Business Growth and Development Manager to lead a small‑to‑medium team of advisors. The role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with prospective and existing clients to drive demand for the company’s financial products and services across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate and implement the local action plan aligned with the organisation’s strategy and vision.
• Develop and execute relationship‑management plans for existing accounts, identifying key decision‑makers and gathering customer feedback.
• Present appropriate financial products and services to customers, negotiate terms and secure agreements.
• Identify new sales opportunities through referrals, trade shows, and networking.
• Monitor team performance, allocate work, and take corrective actions to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Provide operational support and act as first‑line supervisor for transactional operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance customer communications and strengthen external relationships.
• Deliver specialised support for key accounts and manage complex customer inquiries.
• Implement prospecting plans to launch new products and engage potential customers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a sales or advisory team in the financial services sector.
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on aligning local actions to broader organisational goals.
