Carbon Finance Manager – Fixed-Term

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking an experienced climate‑finance professional to lead financial modelling and fundraising for its agroforestry carbon pilots. The role will be based in Nairobi (or Kigali) and focuses on developing innovative carbon projects that generate impact for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain financial models for carbon‑credit projects.
• Identify and secure funding from donors, investors, and climate‑finance mechanisms.
• Collaborate with agronomy, operations, and monitoring teams to integrate carbon methodologies into farm programmes.
• Prepare project proposals, budgets, and impact assessments for carbon pilots.
• Track project performance, report results to stakeholders, and ensure compliance with carbon standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in climate or carbon finance.
• Proven track record of fundraising and managing financial models for environmental projects.
• Strong understanding of agroforestry, carbon markets, and smallholder farmer contexts.
• Preferably based in Nairobi or Kigali.
