About the role

Join Sawari Hospitality Solutions as a Casual Kitchen Steward in Nairobi. You will support the kitchen team by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment, ensuring that all equipment and service ware meet the highest hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen, floors, and dishwashing area clean, dry, and well‑maintained at all times.
• Operate industrial dishwashers and pot‑washing machinery according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Wash, sort, stack, and store dishes, utensils, pots, and pans following established procedures.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables in compliance with hotel and local authority standards.
• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, emptying rubbish bins, and maintaining waste‑bin areas.
• Remove broken or chipped service items from circulation and update the breakage register.
• Adhere to all safety data sheets (SDS) and hygiene regulations.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience as a kitchen steward.
• High school diploma or a certificate in food preparation, nutrition, sanitation, or food safety.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays during peak hospitality periods.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and reliability.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team‑oriented culture.
