Certified Nursing Assistant – Solid Organ Transplant

About the role

Join the Solid Organ Transplant Unit at Nebraska Medicine as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). You will provide medical, surgical, telemetry, and progressive care to adult patients before and after liver, kidney, pancreas, intestinal and islet cell transplants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities assigned by licensed nursing staff.
• Assist with monitoring, medication administration support, and documentation for transplant patients.
• Collaborate with an interprofessional team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Maintain equipment, adhere to infection‑control protocols, and ensure a safe environment.
• Support both day and night 12‑hour shifts in a 36‑bed unit.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification in Nebraska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association after unit orientation.
• Effective communication skills.
• For Nursing Assistants: at least six months of patient‑care experience or enrollment in a nursing program.

Required skills
