Chef – Full-time in Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Chef to join our kitchen team in Upper Hill, Nairobi. The role involves preparing, cooking, and presenting high‑quality meals while supporting menu development and maintaining kitchen standards.

Key responsibilities

• Food preparation and production: prepare, cook, and present meals according to recipes, menus, and quality standards.
• Ensure timely service and monitor food quality, taste, texture, and presentation.
• Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes.
• Maintain portion control to minimize waste and support profitability.
• Keep the workstation clean, organized, and efficient; maintain equipment and utensils.
• Receive, inspect, and store food deliveries following safety standards.
• Monitor stock levels and report inventory concerns.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations; participate in cleaning schedules and inspections.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
• Support training and guidance of junior kitchen staff when required.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen environment.
• Demonstrated experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and best kitchen practices.
