Chemical Scientist – Remote (Short‑Term Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Expert to work remotely on a short‑term, task‑based contract. You will tackle advanced, postgraduate‑level chemistry problems and contribute to AI model fine‑tuning through clear, structured explanations.

Key responsibilities

• Solve advanced chemistry problems, including organic reaction mechanisms, chemical equilibrium, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.
• Create detailed textual explanations complemented by images, chemical equations, diagrams, and visual simulations.
• Provide constructive feedback and thorough annotations on chemistry‑related tasks.
• Collaborate on AI model fine‑tuning projects by delivering analytical problem‑solving and structured reasoning.
• Explain complex concepts in simple language, using visuals and simulations where appropriate.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. (or currently pursuing) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and logical problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• LinkedIn profile included in the resume; background check required after onboarding.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least three of the following tools: GROMACS, LAMMPS, Psi4, PySCF, xtb, crest, Multiwfn, Cantera, CoolProp, NWChem, PyBaMM, RDKit, Open Babel.

What we offer

• Compensation of $346 per approved task.
• Short‑term contract lasting 11 weeks, 40 hours per week with a 4‑hour overlap with PST.
