Chief Executive Officer

About the role

The organization is a Tier 3 deposit‑taking SACCO with over 50 years of service in Kenya. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership, oversee daily operations, and ensure financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and implement the SACCO’s approved strategic and business plans.
• Advise the Board on policy, governance, and performance matters.
• Oversee financial management, statutory compliance, and risk management.
• Drive business growth, product innovation, and enhance member experience.
• Lead digital transformation, ICT security, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls, audit compliance, and risk frameworks.
• Build and sustain a high‑performance, ethical, and accountable workforce.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (Master’s degree and CPA(K) preferred).
• Professional organization membership in good standing (mandatory).
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in senior management or CEO‑level role, preferably within the co‑operative or financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of Deposit‑Taking SACCO regulations and SASRA guidelines.
• Ability to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
