Chief Nutrition Officer (P-5) – Fixed Term – Nairobi

About the role

The Chief Nutrition leads UNICEF’s nutrition programme in Kenya, overseeing strategic planning, implementation and results delivery for maternal, infant and child nutrition. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, the role ensures sustainable nutrition outcomes across the first 1,000 days and adolescence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership for the Nutrition team and cross‑sectoral collaboration with Health and WASH.
• Develop and plan nutrition programmes aligned with UNICEF strategic plans and results‑based management.
• Oversee programme implementation, monitoring, quality control and reporting of results.
• Deliver technical advisory services and support to partners and government stakeholders.
• Lead advocacy, networking and partnership building to promote nutrition priorities.
• Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
