Client Coverage Vice President – Chinese Segment

About the role

The role focuses on managing and expanding Standard Bank's portfolio of Chinese corporate clients in Kenya. It requires a strong finance background, fluency in Mandarin, and the ability to deliver exceptional client experiences while managing risk. The Vice President will act as a trusted advisor across the end‑to‑end client engagement value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow the China corporate client portfolio, ensuring client needs are met and revenue targets achieved.
• Coordinate cross‑departmental teams to originate and execute client‑centric banking solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor, influencing timelines, expectations and negotiating with internal stakeholders.
• Oversee risk management as the first line of defence for client engagements.

Required profile

• First‑degree qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in commercial or corporate banking, with a proven track record in financial and valuation analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross‑functional teams and lead client engagements at senior management level.
• Strong behavioural competencies such as articulating information, developing strategies and providing insights.
