Clinical Psychologist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves delivering comprehensive mental health services to individuals, families and groups within a clinical setting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using standardized clinical tools.
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group and family psychotherapy employing evidence‑based therapeutic approaches.
• Manage clients with disorders such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use and other psychological conditions.
• Design and implement rehabilitation and relapse‑prevention programmes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, assessment reports and treatment records.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, counsellors, nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary meetings and clinical reviews.
• Deliver psycho‑education to clients and their families while upholding professional ethics and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (mandatory).
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant Kenyan professional regulatory body; a valid practising licence is an advantage.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification clinical experience, preferably in a rehabilitation centre, psychiatric hospital, mental health facility or addiction‑treatment setting.
• Proven experience in conducting psychological assessments and delivering psychotherapy.
• Strong knowledge of DSM‑5 and ICD diagnostic frameworks and evidence‑based treatment models.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and report‑writing abilities.
• High level of professionalism, empathy, integrity and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
