Commercial Analyst

About the role

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change is seeking a Commercial Analyst to support its Nairobi office. You will work closely with project teams and senior stakeholders to develop commercial proposals, analyse financial performance and maintain a suite of bid and reporting tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine commercial proposals in line with organisational guidance.
• Review project performance data (BVAs) to ensure billable time aligns with budgets.
• Maintain and improve bid templates, content libraries and a central repository of playbooks.
• Conduct post‑project reviews, lessons‑learned analysis and feed insights into future proposals.
• Populate and update commercial information in Salesforce, track bid decisions and win/loss outcomes.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform commercial models.
• Support income forecasting, generate reports and highlight financial trends.

Required profile

• Experience in a commercial, business development or finance role within consultancy, international development or professional services.
• Strong analytical ability with experience in financial modelling or project costing.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication, capable of distilling technical and commercial information.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms (advantageous).
