Communications and Reporting Consultant – EVAW

About the role

The Communications and Reporting Consultant will support UN Women’s Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) team in Nairobi, driving strategic advocacy communications and reporting across the ACT Programme. Working under the EVAW Regional Policy Specialist, the consultant will help amplify the visibility of UN Women’s work with governments, civil society, donors and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate strategic advocacy messages and communication assets for regional and global audiences.
• Produce and adapt brand‑visible materials, social‑media content and contextualised assets for the EVAW unit.
• Lead communication planning for high‑profile events such as the 16 Days of Activism and the African Union’s Convention on ending VAWG.
• Coordinate with the communications unit to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
• Support reporting on advocacy outcomes and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations or a related field.
• Proven experience in advocacy, strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the gender‑based violence sector.
• Strong understanding of UN processes and the ability to work with diverse partners.
• Excellent written and oral English skills.
