Communications & Digital Media Assistant

About the role

The Youth Agenda is seeking a Communications & Digital Media Assistant to support its mission of empowering youth across Kenya. This entry‑level position will blend content creation, visual storytelling, and digital outreach to raise the organisation’s profile.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engaging posts, articles and multimedia for YAA’s social media channels, website and newsletters.
• Design digital and print communication assets such as posters, brochures, infographics, banners and presentations.
• Capture high‑quality photographs and videos during meetings, trainings, community events and public gatherings.
• Edit photos and produce short‑form and long‑form videos for online platforms.
• Plan and execute digital campaigns to increase visibility, audience engagement and brand recognition.
• Maintain a content calendar, schedule posts, interact with followers and monitor performance metrics.
• Write human‑interest stories, success stories, testimonials and programme highlights.
• Organise and archive all visual and communication assets ensuring consistent branding.
• Support live media coverage and communications during events and campaigns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Film Production, Marketing or a related field.
• At least one year of professional experience in communications, digital media, graphic design or content creation.
• Strong written and storytelling abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Kenya and to provide support during weekend or evening events.
